Nokia 7950 XRS (Extensible Routing System) Family is the last and highest capacity Routers of Nokia (Formerly Alcatel-Lucent). These high capacity Nokia Routers are used in the Backbone Networks of Service Providers. There are various members of Nokia 7950 XRS Family. Each of these has different capability and capacity. What are the members of 7950 XRS Family? These are:

Nokia 7950 XRS-20
Nokia 7950 XRS-20e
Nokia 7950 XRS-40

Nokia 7950 Routers are the backbone (core) routers developed by Nokia after 7750 Service Router Family.

Nokia 7950 XRS-20

Nokia 7950 XRS-20 is the 20 slotted Router of Nokia XRS Family. Routing Capacity of Nokia 7950 XRS-20 is 16 Tb/s. Each Slot has Full-Duplex 400 Gb/s. There can be up to 80 100GE interfaces or 800 10G interfaces. Nokia 7950 XRS-20 can be used in two types. These are stand-alone and extensible types.

Nokia 7950 XRS-20e

Nokia 7950 XRS-20e is the 20 slotted second Router of Nokia XRS Family. It is similar to Nokia 7950 XRS-20. Routing Capacity of Nokia 7950 XRS-20e is 16 Tb/s. Each Slot has Full-Duplex 400 Gb/s. There can be up to 80 100GE interfaces or 800 10G interfaces. Nokia 7950 XRS-20e can be used in two types. These are stand-alone and extensible types.

Nokia 7950 XRS-20e has additionally Fan Trays and XRS Control Modules(XCM).

Nokia 7950 XRS-40

Nokia 7950 XRS-40 is the 40 slotted Router of Nokia XRS Family. Routing Capacity of Nokia 7950 XRS-40 is 32 Tb/s. Each Slot has Full-Duplex 400 Gb/s. There can be up to 160 100GE interfaces or 1600 10G interfaces. Nokia 7950 XRS-40 can be used in two types. These are stand-alone and extensible types.

Nokia 7950 XRS-40 can be formed with either Nokia 7950 XRS-20 or Nokia 7950 XRS-20e Routers.
