At the Content Layer, YANG Modeling is used fo data modeling and protocol operations. The configuration for a NETCONF operation is XML based and in element. This configuration data is stored in a configuration datastore on a network device.

Operations Layer is the mechanims that handle the NETCONF operations present in the requests and reply messages. Each element is associated with some parameters. XML encryption works in this layer. There are also many operation parameters works here. We will give the list of this operation parameters below.

At the Message Layer, RPC messages and notifications are defined. and messages are used here.

At the Transport Layer, there is a communication path between the Client and the Server. With this communication path, end-to-end network connection is provided and message exchange is done.
