Generative AI uses ML models to create new content from the existing learned data.

Predictive AI is the other machine learning based artificial intelligence type. The difference of Predictive AI than Generative AI is, while Generative AI focuses on creating new content, Predictive AI focuses on doing predictions about the future. It is much more related with statistic. Because, it uses historical data to forecast future outcomes and classify future events.
Predictive AI is well-suited for data-driven decision-making. So, generally finance, healthcare, e-commerce and marketing companies use the power of Predictive AI. They use this technology to analyze the data, check the statistics and do a prediction for the future actions.

Predictive AI uses historical data and statistics to make decision about the future. Its main aim is basically creating forecasts. In other words, it finds relationships between different data sets and do its predictions on these data. To do this, firstly, it needs data. After that it analyze this data and do its prediction and forecast.
For example, you can use this mechanism in finance. To check the historical finance graphics and determine the patterns on these graphics. Here, predictive AI make a forecast according to these learned data. And it gives what to do in the future, which financial issue will be next.

Generative AI and Predictive AI are two types of Artificial Intelligence. These two types of AI have different properties. They have similarities and differences. What are the differences between Generative AI and Predictive AI?
The main difference of Generative AI and Predictive AI is about their objective. Generative AI focus on creating new content, while Predictive AI focus on future forecasting. With Generative AI, you can create new visuals for any area. With Predictive AI, you can do an analyze on the existing data and make predictions about the future.
According to their aims, the outputs of these two artificial intelligence types are different too. Generative artificial intelligence produces text, images, videos, voices, codes etc. Predictive artificial intelligence produces reports and analyzes about the future as forecasts.
The other difference between Predictive AI and Generative AI is about used algorithms. Generative AI uses neural networks and machine learning to create unique content. It uses language models, transformers, GANs, diffusion models. The algorithms used by Predictive AI is a little different. Predictive AI uses statistical models and machine learning algorithms to do its predictions. It uses regressions, random forests.
The other difference is about the data that they use. In other words, about their training. Generative AI uses different data sets to learn about the case. Predictive AI uses historical data for detailed analyze.

Another difference is about applications. Generative AI is used unique content creation like text, picture, any visuals, music etc. Code generation and detailed research are the other applications that we use generative AI. Again, for summarization, simplification, Generative AI is used.
Predictive AI is used for business analyze, forecast for risk management, healthcare diagnosis, customer targeting, cyber security, management and maintenance optimization etc. In other words, any forecast related applications can use predictive AI. Healthcare, finance etc. can be some of these areas.
ChatGPT is a Generative AI developed by OpenAI. ChatGPT gets requests as directions from the user and creates unique content according to this request. ChatGPT is also known as chatbot.
With Generative Artificial Intelligence, you can create unique content in a very short time. This content can be text, picture, video or in another format that you can use. It translates different data formats into different ones.
With Predictive Artificial Intelligence, you can do a forecast with the data you have. You can analyze the statistics and predict the future actions to be more proactive for these situations.
Predictive AI and Generative AI has some difference but one of these differences is a key difference. This difference is also hidden in their names. Generative AI is used to create content while Predictive AI is used to analyze statistics and do a forecast.
